This a musical style is born at the end of the Sixties. We generally define it as a subtle mixture of classical music and rock. It is an adventurous and theatrical music which evolves in pretty and delicate tons pastel. It can be at the same time planning, tortuous, sometimes aggressive, often melodic, in a word… ALIVE.
 The monuments of the Progressive Rock |  | GENESIS, PINK FLOYD and YES will be the spearheads of this movement and will require even the statute of international stars
Other bands like CAMEL, CARAVAN, KING CRIMSON, KANSAS and ANGE will emerge during the seventies but in a more discrete way.
The Eighties will see the appearance of MARILLION followed closely by IQ and PENDRAGON as well as MACHIAVEL obviously. We speak then about Neo Prog. |
