TPE: the tale The beginnings (as simple association) |  It was enough to a meeting during the summer 2001, between Christian Van Lomberghen, Fabien Gremmens and Albert Félis in front of the stage of Spirit of 66 of Verviers so that is born the project to create an antenna of listening to Progressive rock in Tournai.
According to the trio, Tournai has many assets: proximity of the French frontier and the Dutch-speaking area, presence of attractive places as the “Maison de la Culture de Tournai" and “the Auberge de Jeunesse”.
On November 23, 2001, the three initiators fix appointment, in the meeting room of the Auberge de Jeunesse de Tournai, with all the amateurs of rock. They envisage to carry out their objective through various activities.
Tournai Prog Event, as simple association, was created. In the same time a partnership with the Auberge de Jeunsse was established: very many activities found refuge there.
The amateurs of progressive rock were invited to attend concerts thanks to the support of the local authorities and various actors of the cultural and associative sector.
They also could collectively travel to other places of concert of which the spirit of 66. |
| Tournai ProgEvent: Constitution of the A.S.B.L. |  During 2005, TPE was constituted in ASBL in order to be provided with more effective structures.
At this occasion, the current denomination is adopted: Tournai ProgEvent ASBL.
Following the constitutive general meeting gathering ten passionates, six people more particularly commit themselves making live a.s.b.l from day to day.
The general policy manner of diffusion is elaborate: alternation between various animations and small concerts “intimate” with the Auberge de Jeunesse de Tournai and organization of musical events of greater scale. |
