Biography of Syrens Call  Biography |  Formed at the end of 1997, the band records the title « Strange Reality » at the LB LAB under the direction of Stéphane BURIEZ.
Criticisms are positive as well in the national press as international.
Released in 2000 and entitled «Fantasea», the first album will permit to SYRENS CALL to have succes in France like out of its frontiers.
Consequently the band will play with sizes of the Metal scene like Ark, Threshold, Vanden Plas, Within Temptation, Superior, The Gathering and will even open for r Doro in Paris in January 2002.
A keyboard with whole share, Frank Manier, comes to enrich the initial quintet from September 2002. This young musician brings a new breath to the band which works already hard on the second album. Integration is fast. The pieces take another dimension and the recording of «Emoceans» can begin.
Recorded during 2003 in the personal studio of the band then mixed and masterized by Bruno Levesque (SILENCE) in January-February 2004, «Emoceans» shows the capacity of progress of the band by proposing a more mature music, more melodic but also more powerful. The favorable reception reserved to the album by the media is the best illustration.
The beautiful balance which reigns within the band is broken by the eviction of its singer, but the band gave an unforgettable concert at the Metal Female Voices Festival II in Ancienne Belgique in opening of bands like Epica and Nightwish.
SYRENS CALL launches out then in the writing of new titles and, at the same time, after months of research and hearings, recruits at the summer 2005 its news frontwoman: Soraya.
Her quick integration makes it possible the band to finalize the composition of new titles of which some are presented live at the autumn 2005. These titles are reproduced on a new 5 titles mini-CD «Against Wind and Tide» released in September 2006 and containing 3 new compositions, a new version of «Aquatic Coma» and a cover of «Enjoy the Silence» from Depeche Mode. |
