After having finished his rock opera  « The Human Equation », the Dutch guitarist, composer and producer, Arjen Anthony Lucassen, wished two things
  • To show the multiple talents of the Mexican female singer Marcela Bovio, vocalist on this album
  • To form a band for the first time since 10 years.

Initially, it left Marcela free to try out its compositions at the guitar, before adding the ideas of the other members of the band.

To form this band, Lucassen used Internet in order to recruit the best talents all over the world.
Thus the Dutch drummer, Davy Mickers, was recruited following a contest organized on the site of Ayreon.
He also discovered the American guitarist (resident in Sweden) Lori Linstruth in a newsgroup in connection with Ayreon.
The band was then supplemented by the Mexican pianist Alejandro Millán and the Dutch bass player Johan van Stratum.

Mixing mysterious Gothic vocals, metal guitars, atmospheric trip-hop with piano and violins, the album «Embrace the storm » was carried out during the year 2005.
