Click to zoom the imageSince its creation in Paris in 1997, The Old Dead Tree develops a unique style combining extreme metal, pop music and Gothic.  Its principal characteristic lies in the song, passing from one kind to another.

Their first demo now exhausted,  «The Blossom», published in 1999 and printed at 1600 copies, was accomodated with enthusiasm by the French rock press like by the public and allowed them to show their real capacity to burn the stage.

Strongly marked by the suicide, in August 1999, of their first drummer,  Frédéric Guillemot fan of progressive stamped 70's), the band got down himself to the composition of a concept album (entirely dedicated with their dear deceased) in order to exorcize the loss of a dear being like all the frustrations and the dark thoughts generated by such a situation.

It's in 2002 that the combo is signed by Season Of Mist for which they record t «The Nameless Disease» which will be released in March 2003.
The promotion of this album passed by many concerts, in particular in first part of  Epica, Katatonia, Opeth and Paradise Lost.

The CD «The Perpetual Motion», sreleased in 2005, was recorded about twenty days to the Stage One Studio in Bühne (in Germany) with the assistance of Andy Classen (ex Holy Moses, producer of Disbelief, GraveWorm, Dew-Scented, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter …).

The brand new album  «The water fields» is just released and established The Old Dead Tree in the higher category of the French metal bands.
