Biography of After...  Biography |  After … is a Polish progressive rock band. They were formed in 2002 as the following of a band named Awake.
After … is composed of six musicians for a progressive rock where the melodies and atmospheres are dominating.
Three distinguished guests are also present on this first opus. There's the English Colin Bass (Camel) and Polish Josef Skrzek (SBB) and Jacek Zasada (Quidam).
The music of After… contains beautiful influences of bands such Camel, Pink Floyd and Pendragon. We are seduced by the excellent work of the band as well vocal and musical. The presence of two guitarists is a plus which offers a big variety on this side. The singer uses his charming voice, the keyboards are floating and the rhythm section ensures a support without fault.
No doubt, After … is a band to be followed very near. |

Appeared in 2002, it is the continuation of the band AWAKE.
Initially started in 2002, this album, following various obligations as well on behalf of the band as of the selected sound engineer (Zbyszek Florek), will be released only in November 2005 and sees the participation of members of SBB (Josef Skrzek), of Quidam(Jacek Zasada) - to note that the bass player, Mariusz Ziotkowski, also hold this role within Quidam - and of Camel (Colin Bass).
Musically, this is an atmospheric prog of high level in which are felt some influences from Camel or from Marillion.
Close the eyes and let you carry by the voice of Krzysiek Drogowski and this music enchanter: at once an impression of quietude will invade you.
To note a astonishing (and very calm) cover of System Of A Down (Spiders from the first album of this band) which does not indicate in this unity.

After… this is a combination of five letters and three points, only…but you can interpret this three points for some words, minds or dreams. It's up to you.
Please tell us more about the making of your album «Endless lunatic» ?FONT%
…We recorded our first album at ISLANDS STUDIO and at the City's Theatre in Inowroclaw. Zbyszek Florek was a sound engeenier. It was our first Professional session but we didn't feel it. We recorded this album for about two years (with breaks) but atmosphere during work in studio was very nice. We would like to record next album in this place.
You have some prestigious partipations on your debut CD, could you tell us more about these collaborations ?
How have you been in contact with Colin Bass and what was his role on your CD ?
Yes, we are happy that so prestigious guests appeared on our debut album. Our publisher Witek Andree from Oskar label helped us to win them. Colin Bass recorded few albums for Oscar; by example quite popular in Poland «An Outcast Of The Islands». Our publisher suggested that Colin could be very interesting guest with recognizable sound.
Witek Andree asked Colin for participation on our CD. He agreed with no problems. We've met and discussed with Colin musical detalis. There was similar situation with Josef Skrzek from SBB. Witek Andree has published some recordings of SBB and he is in good relations with Josef Skrzek. On our album appeared also Jacek Zasada from Quidam with flute parts in two tracks. Jacek is a great musician and our friend, so there were no problems with collaboration during recordings.
Some of you play both in After.. and in Quidam. Isn't it difficult to reconcile the timetable between the two bands ?
A lot of people asked us about this. As long as we will have satisfaction from our music we will play together.
You will be touring in Europe during april. Do you have some other project after this dates ?
Are you working on new material for the next CD ?
Yes, we would like to play a few concerts in Poland, Germany, Holland and Belgium. Today we know that we will play in W?oc?awek (PL), Reichenbach (D), Apeldoorn (NL) and Tournai (B). We will write all informations about this gigs on our website.
We are working on the new songs but we can't say more about next album. In our minds there are a lot of conceptions for the new album. We have few new compositions and we are going to play this material during our gigs.
Can you tell a word to belgian people to decide them to come to see you on 22 april and to buy your CD ?
We hope that 22 april 2007 will be very special day either for people who will visit Tournai and for us. It is well known that belgian audience is very exceptional, so we have always wanted to play a concert in this country. We invite you to Tournai. It will be a great gig!
